Our club has recently announced the introduction of an exciting new junior programme and we would like to share those details with you.
The club is working hard very hard to become a much greater part of the local community and one of our main priorities is to offer young people a safe and friendly environment to come and play the great game of cricket. We are refurbishing our players lounge as we speak to make sure that we have the best possible facilities and to provide a welcoming family atmosphere for you. We have a fantastic venue at Stalybridge and we want more people to enjoy it. We will be encouraging parents to be a big part of the club and to join us in socialising together while your child learns the skills of cricket.
Our Junior section is headed up by Junior Development Officer, Adam Harwick, a long standing player at the club, and joint 1st Team Captain; he is committed to providing the best possible environment for cricketers of all abilities and you can contact Adam directly by email at email@example.com or by registering interest in enrolling your child via the contact form at the bottom of this page.
CRICKET IS NOT JUST FOR BOYS: Adam is looking to welcome both boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 13 with the intention of laying on regular weekly practice sessions throughout the season and also entering both an under 11’s, and an under 13’s team into the Derbyshire & Cheshire Cricket League for season 2021.
Stalybridge St. Paul’s Cricket Club has a reputation for bringing through junior cricketers into our senior teams and forging long lasting club affiliations. The majority of out first team cricketers are Stalybridge juniors of old, we have always prided ourselves on being a club that promotes young cricketers within our 1st and 2nd Eleven cricket teams.
We want the community of Stalybridge, Dukinfield and the wider reaches of Tameside to come and enjoy our club and use our facilities. We are working closely with Active Tameside and the Cheshire Cricket Board in the initial planning process and the delivery of training will be a collaborative approach that will only benefit our junior cricketers.
Don’t just take it from us; our senior teams have two rising stars in Jacob & Adam Dooley, and Adam had this to say of the club:
“We have both felt very welcome and a part of this great club. There are lots of opportunities to play and there isn’t too much pressure. The support and advice for the two of us has been great and we are enjoying it and getting better. It doesn’t really matter if you’ve played before anyone can give it ago. It’s a good, friendly club that’s making a lot of big improvements.”
We have had a fantastic response already but if you are interested in joining our junior programme then please send in your contact details (see below) with your child’s name and age to allow us to assess what teams need to be organised.
With the current Covid-19 restrictions training cannot yet go ahead, but we do want to start some form of indoor practice as soon as it is safe and allowed within the Government guidelines.
Just because we cannot practice together does not excuse you from honing your skills.
We have shared some videos with you to get the ball rolling.
A mailing list will be created with everyone’s contact details, therefore the club can contact families when they are ready. Please use the contact form below to provide us with details and we hope to hear from you soon.
